MicroClean is an educational tool to teach students aged 5-12 about micro-plastics and principles of density. This product was created with the Massachusetts Dept. of Conservation and Recreation and MIT Mechanical Engineering. MicroClean was created in a team of four students; I was responsible for the product interaction, sketching, and photography.
Our team interviewed elementary/middle school teachers, environmentalists at the Surfrider Foundation, and MA government workers to collect qualitative data about the state of micro-plastics education and legislation.
We identified key needs and stakeholders to inform product specifications, iterating and testing several designs before creating our final product.
